Without title as issued. 3 engraved plates, one of these hand-coloured. (Some spotting in the plates.) Contemporary russia by Ph. Selenka, with his ticket, the sides richly panelled in gilt and blind, gilt edges (small scuff on the upper side). IN A FINE BINDING BY SELENKA. Possibly the first edition of the author's reconstruction of the chryselephantine statue of Minerva, a work subsequently collected in his Monuments et Ouvrages (1829). Rare: WorldCat records copies only at the Anna Amalia Library in Weimar, and at the Getty Research Library; ABPC records no copies selling at auction in over 30 years.

Engraved frontispiece and 37 engraved plates. Contemporary polished calf by Selenka, with his ticket, sides panelled in gilt and blind, marbled edges. FIRST EDITION, AN EXCELLENT COPY IN A FINE BINDING BY SELENKA. A book on the terracotta antiquities in Seroux's private collection, the plates often with several figures on a sheet. The final plate shows the tomb of the Count de Caylus. Brunet V, 311; RIBA 2979. (2)
