Born in Israel in 1956 Kuper has been teaching photography at Camera Obscura, Tel Aviv since 1993 and at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem since 1994. In 1995 he was awarded the Gerard Levi Prize for a Young Photographer from the Israel Museum, Jerusalem and in 2002 was the recipient of the Jaffin Prize from the America Israel Cultural Foundation. Since 1987, Kuper has participated in several one-person and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad including those at the Tel Aviv Museum (1993, 1994, 1999); The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; The Jewish Museum, New York; The Jewish Museum, Vienna; Andrew Mummery Gallery, London; Tate Modern, London and the Gershman Y Jewish Community Center, Philadelphia. His works are included in several private and public collections including Tate Modern, London; The Israel Museum, Jerusalem and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
