POZZO, Andrea (1642-1709). Rules and Examples of Perspective Proper for Painters and Architects, etc. London: Benj. Motte for John Sturt, 1707. 2° (403 x 254mm). Engraved frontispiece, titles in English and Latin, headpiece and initial to dedication, subscribers' list, full-page illustration to verso of approbation leaf of drawing instruments, 101 plates, plates LIIIA and LIIIB in an early state like the RIBA copy with manuscript cancel-slips over suffix letters, and engraved initials, with the English text for figure 70 with printed initial 'W', letterpress text in English and Latin. (Light marginal burn marks at top corner and fore-edge from beginning to plate XXVII, one text leaf with short marginal tear, very minor marginal worming from beginning to plate XLII, 3 plates with very light creasing at corners, occasional browning and spotting.) Contemporary panelled calf, spine with raised bands and red morocco gilt label (burn mark to upper cover at top corner and fore-edge, extremities rubbed, head and tailcaps more heavily, short wormtrack to upper cover).
