Pierre Jouffroy was a French painter who is known from his portraits, 'hinterglasmalerei' and allegorical pictures. He painted for privates, churches and the court. He worked between 1742 and 1776 in Pontalier, Nancy, Paris, London and La Rouchelle. In 1742-1743 he was employed as a court painter to king Stanislaw I in Pontalier. His painting of Christ appearing to a Saint made in 1743 is still in the local church.
