The present composition is known in four other versions by Pietro Antoniani: Sale, Sotheby's, London, 30 October 1991, lot 201 (32.5 x 50 cm.); Sale, Christie's, London, 17 December 1999, lot 67 (66 x 132.6 cm.); Sale, Christie's, London, 9 April 1990, lot 85 (67 x 131.8 cm.); with Richard Green (Fine Paintings), July 1971 (65 x 131.5 cm.). While each composition varies in size as well as certain details, they all include the two vessels and the carriage to the left hand side.
