diana and hounds inscribed Pierre Traverse, impressed CIRE PERDUE/LE BLANC BARDEDIENNE & FILS/PARIS. silvered bronze height 24 in. (61 cm.); length 36 1/2 in. (92.7 cm.) Born in 1892, Traverse studied with Jean-Antoine Injalbert in Paris. He exhibited in the Salons des Artistes Francaise where he won a silver metal in 1921, a gold metal in 1926, a diploma of honor in 1937, a legion of honor in 1938 and a medal of honor in 1942.
