Lot 45: Pierre Puvis de Chavannes (French, 1824-1898)

Gar‡on portant une guirlande de feuillage stamped with monogram 'p.p.c' (lower right) black chalk on paper 83/8 x 6 in. (21.2 x 15.3 cm.) NOTES This lot is a study for the figure which appears facing the opposite direction in the grand mural composition for the Rouen Museum 'Inter Artes et Naturam' painted by Puvis de Chavannes in 1889-90.
