"The Women of Vietnam".
1970s. Vintage. Gelatin silver print. 16,5 x 24,5cm. Verso marked with the stamps of
agency, copyright and collection and with various handwritten details in blue ball pen,
black ink pencil and black felt pen. Additionally with the former mounted label
(enclosed): "The Women of Vietnam. In a society where they are traditionally revered for
their poise and purity, women have been effectiverly deshumanized. They sit outside
American bases wanting to enter to serve the soldiers as everything from laundrymaids to
prostitutes. Vietnamese girls, despit their grat beauty make very bad whored, as they know
nothing of seduction and hate their clients. The most unliberated women outside Islam,
they are thrust into prostitution from as early an age as 12 and always hate it."
