Philip le Bas (b.1925) Cars parked near St Clement Danes, London Rear view of the bombed out church of St Clement Danes Two, the first oil on canvas board The second oil on canvas Both signed lower right Both unframed Each 40.5cm x 30cm (2) The church was almost destroyed by German bombs during the Blitz of 10 May 1941. The outer walls, the tower and Gibbs's steeple, survived the bombing, but the interior was gutted by fire. Please note this lot may be subject to droit de suite
