Petrus Cornelis Weyts (Netherlandish/Belgian/Flemish, 1799-1855)

Bark "WABAN of Plymouth. Wm Bartlett Commander. 1842" Pashing Flushing, Belgium. Unsigned, bears inscription "Passing Flushing by P. Weytz 1852" on backing panel, titled in gilt below. Oil on glass with gilt highlights, 21 x 27 in., in a period mahogany veneer frame. Condition: Repaint mainly to sky, streaks of some paint present but slightly separating from glass.
