Perkins Harnly (American/California, 1901-1986, active New Orleans, 1930-31), two paintings including "Good Morning, (Odalisque): This lady has a very disordered room...probably drink or exhausted from her erotic activities night before...probably wiping sweat off her chin", watercolor on paper affixed to board, 1969, unsigned, titled en verso, 29 1/4 in. x 23 in.; and "Man's Brain: Religion, Sex, Money and food...Main things in life...religion shown by father, son, holy ghost...all framed by the cross-section of the skull...and convolutions of the brain inside...below is Hell", watercolor on paper, 1969, unsigned, 19 in. x 22 7/8 in., both unframed; accompanied by an exhibition announcement "Victorian Fantasies: Watercolors by Perkins Harnly", Lawrence Gallery Kansas City, Missouri and The Washington Post, Sunday, June 11, 1972, article by Robert Myers entitled "Perkins Harnly: The Artist Behind the Meat Counter".
