Fortune Island Gallery Terms & ConditionsAll items are sold, As Is, Where Is, without any warranties expressed or implied. Items will be available for preview before each auction for further examination. Our goal is to provide accurate descriptions for all items, but should not be construed as a guarantee in any means. It is the sole duty of our customers to make their final decisions regarding an items description, authenticity, materials, condition and value. Your decision to bid confirms that you have either previewed the items, or are in agreement to the conditions and terms listed above.This is a reserve auction, with items starting at or below the reserve. The auctioneer will place bids on behalf of the agreed upon reserve and pass lots that do not meet reserve. Reserves when applicable will be set by the auction company in agreement with our consignors. Not all items will have reserves, but this amount will be kept confidential at all times to protect our consignors interests. Absentee & Phone Bids are accepted and even encouraged for all of our auctions. Contact us and we will email the forms to be filled out. Forms must be received no later than 2 hours before auction is scheduled to start so that they can be assigned and noted in auctioneers book. Phone bidders will be contacted before auction starts, and need to provide a reliable phone number to be reached at. We accept Cash, Credit Card, Paypal & Wire Transfers as methods of payment. All online invoices over $5,000 must be paid via wire transfer and every international invoice over $1,000 must be paid via wire transfer.Shipping All shipping will be handled by your choice of 3rd Party shippers. We will provide a list of trustworthy shippers once your invoice is paid. You will have to coordinate and handle all shipping details. We will not ship for you or coordinate the shipping. Items will need to ship within 2 weeks of payment. Should an item remain longer it will be subject to storage fees of no less than $50, and not to exceed $300 per month. Any item remaining longer than 60 days from payment date will be considered abandoned property, and subject to resale with no refund for any funds paid. Shippers selected will only be allowed to pick-up items paid for, and shippers must schedule their pick-ups to make sure someone is onsite to help them. Contract:

The participation in any of our auctions implies the unconditional acceptance of these conditions of sale.
Any dispute concerning the sale is subject to Swiss law and is under the jurisdiction of the Canton of Geneva law courts, regardless of the town or country of residence of the involved parties.

Payment :

Payments in cash for an amount equal to or more than CHF 100'000 will not be accepted. Personal or company cheques are not accepted.

Hôtel des Ventes reserves the right to accept or refuse any credit card payment. The following cards are accepted at no extra fee: Maestro, Postcard and EC-Direct. Payment by other major cards (MasterCard, Visa, PrePaid MasterCard, PrePaid Visa, American Express and UnionPay) will be subject to a 2% administrative fee.

Condition reports :

The viewing period allows the buyer to evaluate personally the condition and authenticity of the objects. Any dispute will not be allowed once the bidding is over. The objects are sold as seen at the time of bidding. To the best of our knowledge, all indications provided in the sale catalogue are correct; however the descriptions are only the expression of a professional opinion and do not constitute a guarantee. The catalogue may mention some damage to a lot without necessarily providing an exhaustive list. If the low estimate is CHF 1'000 or less there will be no mention of the object's condition. Condition reports are available upon request. Photographs, dimensions and weight are for indication only.


Title of goods therefore any risk passes to the buyer the moment the hammer falls on a lot. However, ownership of a lot can only be assumed after full payment of the invoice. In case of non- payment after three days following the end of the sale, the buyer is liable to judicial prosecution. Cancellation of the sale will ensue after a 30 day period of non payment if instructed by the vendor however, all fees and other charges will still be due by the buyer.
