Description

Pair of German Painted Porcelain Plaques in the Rococo Taste, each signed "Kranas" and dated "1874", each depicting an allegorical scene, one after Antoine-Francois (Calet) Callet (French, 1741-1823) depicting a couple maidens, with a putto about to anoint one with a floral crown; the other depicting a maid and nude man, the latter grasping a hammer and sheath, presented in period giltwood frames, plaques 7-3/8" x 5-3/8", with frame 16-3/4" x 15".
