About Quarantine Project

A new photo every day that represents life in quarantine. Made entirely at home, these staged images portray the new reality we are all immersed in.."

As a photographer I have always been interested in our understanding of social experiences through images, with my work always being defined by its very precise and polished aesthetic.

In my new project entitled Quarantine, I aim to document the experience of life through this pandemic using carefully designed and staged images. It aims to capture the new behaviors this reality brings and reflect on the new ‘self’ attached to them, highlighting the new practical and emotional understanding of the space we occupy and our relationship with it. It offers a visual representation of the profound effects of this crisis on even the simplest things.

Quarantine explores our new way of being- everything from the changes in the most mundane domestic activities (like cutting your own hair or manic spring cleaning) to this new emotional state of boredom and stillness that we have collectively found ourselves in.

Rather than simply documenting an average day at home, this project aims to subvert realities that we, without any reason not to, have always taken for granted. Until now.

Born in the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina), I studied photography at the C.C. Ricardo Rojas (Universidad de Buenos Aires). I have worked professionally as a photographer, cameraman and television producer. Between 2001 and 2007 I lived and worked in Barcelona and then moved to Dublin where I continue to develop my professional projects in photography and painting. Over the years I have collaborated with several artists, dancers, musicians and theatre companies. My work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in Berlin, Brussels, Barcelona, Buenos Aires and Dublin, as well as art fairs in Edinburgh and Buenos Aires. I have been invited to present some of my projects in different art festivals in Europe. My artwork forms part of private collections in different countries around the world.
