A monumental work of geometric abstraction suffused with a surrealist mood, Space-Springtime investigates spatial and colour relationships, while deep illusionistic space leads to a painterly area, which, in contrast to the perfect order dictated by the hard-edge forms, radiates pure emotion. As noted by art critic H. Savopoulos, the geometric structure organizes the composition while the gestural brushwork sets its logic on fire.
