Description

OOC - 'The Sinking of HMS Queen Mary, Battle of Jutland' by Henry Reuterdahl (NJ, 1871-1925), depicting the loss of the only British Battleship at 1626, 31 May 1916, with the loss of all but 9 of a crew of 1,266. Reuterdahl was known for his depiction of naval battles, having been commissioned by President Teddy Roosevelt to provide the official depiction of Dewey's victory over the Spanish fleet in Manila harbor during the Spanish-American war. In later gold molded frame with linen liners, SS: 33" x 43", OS: 46 1/2" x 56 1/2", cleaned and restored, fine craquelere.
