FIRST EDITION of a luxuriously produced, yet popular volume of topographical photographs. Among the beautiful photos are the picturesque Venetian 'Palazzi', the public areas of Piazza San Marco and the little 'Campi' and 'Calli'. Several issues of the work appeared and Ongania published a second volume of 100 plates under the title Calli, canali e isole della laguna. A small volume of descriptive and historical notes, Note di P. Molmenti e D. Mantovani, was also published by Ongania in 1893, though it is rarely encountered.
