Oil painting “Lady with mandolin”, American Davenport’s listed Artist, 1845-1931. Charles Stewart Stobie 1845-1931; He lived in Denver, Colorado. He was Indian scout and buffalo hunter. In his painting he depicted Indians, Colorado landscapes, scouting, bears, camping, etc. “Lady with Mandolin” is very rare and unusual painting, dedicated to his French friend - artist St. Pierre. Inscribed in the left lower corner: “C.S. Stobie 1891, apres Saint Pierre” Size of the stretcher: 24 inches x 18 inches = 60 x 45 cm; Saint Pierre = Gaston Casimir (1833-1916). Gaston Casimir painted mostly young beautiful women. Gaston Casimir Saint-Pierre, né le 12 mai 1833 à Nîmes et mort à Paris en 1916, est un artiste peintre français.
