Expert Assesment:
Enclosed is an expert assessment by Prof. Dr. Neidhardt, Dresden, dated October 2013

The present watercolour is a version of the recently rediscovered painting "Mountain Chapel in Winter" acquired by the Saxon Art Association in 1842. Oehme's depiction of the mountain chapel aroused considerable attention as it was included in the King-Ludwig-Album, which was presented to the Regent at the occasion of the unveiling of the Bavaria statue on the Theresienwiese in Munich on October 9, 1850. Moreover, Carl Fedderle created a wood engraved reproduction and W. Witthöft an etching of the painting which made the motif widely popular.
