Notes

"Between 1998 and 2001 I worked on my first series of repetitive figurative paintings. One of them was titled 'We come we eat we sleep'. In this painting I depicted a series of human figures eating a meal on a banana leaf, sitting on the floor in rows. This is a common sight at large-scale gatherings in South India. In this painting I was excited to capture the celebrative spirit of mass consumption in daily life. In Humanised Future, animals and humans have come together from far off lands to share a meal: a magical illusionary moment of consumption."
