A native of Paris, Juliard studied under François Boucher before being accepted into the Academie on August 31, 1754 as a landscape painter. He may have also been one of the artists in Boucher's studio who assisted the master on several commissions. In addition to this, Juliard is recorded as working in the Aubusson factory in 1757 as well as for M. de la Ferte, for whom he produced two landscapes.
