Given to the Hon. Mary Fraser, circa 1915, by her mother Lady Saltoun, and by descent.

We are grateful to Professor Giancarlo Sestieri for proposing the attribution on the basis of photographs. Professor Sestieri notes affinities with the Asssumption by Ricciolini in the chapel of the Villa Sora Boncompagni, Frascati.
