Niall O'Neill (b.1952) THUS DAEDALUS FLEW signed with monogram bronze sculpture mounted on a polished black limestone plinth 23 by 31 by 33cm., 9 by 12 by 13in. One of a limited edition of 7 maquettesof the sculpture by the same name which is located in Killiney Park. Originally conceived as a tribute to Joyce's character Stephen Daedalus, the work also refers to the mythical Daedalus who, unlike his son Icarus, succeeded in flying. IR
