Natale Schiavoni(Chioggia 1777-1858 Venice ) Venus in front of the Mirror or Vanity, signed and unclearly dated N. Schiavoni f. 1841(?), Oil on canvas, 121 x 154 cm, framed, (GS)Natale Schiavoni Studied with R. Morghen in Florenz and F. Maggiotto in Venice. In 1840 he was made a professor in the Venice Academy. He bought the Palazzo Giustiniani and there led the life of a painter prince. His contemporaries called Schiavoni "Il pittore delle grazie", on account of his graceful portraits of women, which were modelled on the Renaissance ideals.
