Notes

The work of New York-based artist and architecture critic Nancy Wolf concentrates on the urban landscape, juxtaposing styles of architecture to create fantastic cityscapes. "(T)hese cautionary critiques of...modernization combine Surrealist juxtaposition and Precisionist draftsmanship to unmask the struggles of a culture coming to grips with itself." (Sydney Lawrence, "Art in America", May 2008). Her work is represented in collections across the United States and abroad, including the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC.

Lots 1663-1666 are being sold to
benefit the Greater Reston Arts
Center (GRACE), a non-profit in
Reston, VA. GRACE promotes
interest in visual arts through
education programs and exhibits of
emerging and established artists.
The following works, along with
others, mostly by Washington
artists, were donated to GRACE by
Sallie Mae, Inc. and formed part of
their corporate collection in their
headquarters in Reston.
