A pair of fine comic illustrations depicting a football game between orangutans and lions; the second illustration depicts the lions after they have apparently won, their bellies expanded - each to about the size of an orangutan.
Griffin was a comic artist working in the late 19th/early 20th centuries who was published in newspapers and magazines such as Puck and Judge. Comparisons could be made between his work and that of R.F. Outcault and Winsor McCay in his use of color and frivolity.
