Notes

Margaret, daughter of Sir William Stirling was the 2nd wife of Andrew Stuart of Castlemilk and Torrance (see lot 58). Together they had three daughters. After his death, she married, in 1804, Sir William John Pulteney, 5th Bt. of Weston Hall. She styled herself as "Lady Stuart" as she disliked her husband's "ugly name".
