Item Overview

Description

[ Movie Poster ] Star Wars (20th Century Fox, 1978). Polish (26.5in X 39"). Originally, George Lucas intended C-3PO to be slick and fast- talking, like a used car salesman crossed with the robot from "Metropolis." Mel Blanc auditioned for the role, but British actor Anthony Daniels secured it; his performance changed the character, but he still had one of the toughest parts in the film. The shins of his metallic costume would drive into the tops of his feet and cause enormous pain. In addition, he often had to act alongside R2-D2, and since R2-D2's "lines" would be dubbed in later, Daniels had difficulty timing the dialogue. This Polish poster features C-3PO exclusively, amidst a galaxy of stars, and this design by artist Jakub Erol suggests a galactic portrait by Jackson Pollack. With sharp edges, an untouched image and no fold separation, this poster shows almost no flaws. Near Mint."
