Miss Noël Laura Nisbet R.I. (1887-1956) "The Coming Generation" Signed, inscribed verso, pencil, watercolour and gouache, possibly on tinted paper, 52cm by 36.5cm Born in Harrow, daughter of Hume Nisbet, studied at South Kensington under L.C. Nightingale winning three gold medals and a Princess of Wales Scholarship. Exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1914, the RI from 1921 and elected a member in 1926. She illustrated Russian Fairy Tales, Cossack Fairy Tales and other works. See illustration
