MIECZYSLAW TADEUSZ JANIKOWSKI (Polish, 1912-1968) 'Sur la route de Lorgue - Var, France', signed lower right and titled verso, watercolour, 9" x 15 1/2", 'French landscape in the Var', signed lower right, watercolour, 10" x 13" and another of the remains of a meal on a trestle table, pen, 5" x 9 1/2" (3) The painter was a friend of Marian Kratochwil. His work moved into abstracts and can be found in a number of the leading Polish museums. 'Sur la route de Lorgue' was painted on holiday away from Paris as 'relaxation'.
