TWO BLUE AND WHITE AND UNDERGLAZE-RED-DECORATED VASES

First half 19th century

One of elegant slender baluster form and painted with a heron standing on one leg in a lotus pond; the other of bottle form with a globular body surmounted by a trumpet neck, the body painted with a bird perched on the branch of blossoming prunus rising from a grassy knoll; on each, the principal motif framed by incised brown-dressed biscuit bands above and below, and further brown dressing at the rim and base. bottle vase: 6 3/4in (17.1cm) high


Condition Report

Both, generally, in excellent overall condition. Each with minute air-bubble pinpricks to the surface but unobtrusive. Recommended.
