Mel Fowler (American, 1921-1987) "Don-na Quixote", a verdigris-patinated bronze sculpture depicting a nude female with rifle in hand and riding a horse, mounted on a verde antico marble base bearing brass title plaque (disattached), created in 1967 and cast in 1985, edition 1/10, signed "Mel 85", figure h. 6-3/4", base h. 2", w. 7-3/4", d. 4-1/2"". Exhibited: Texas Lutheran College, 1975; Galveston Art League, 1976. Provenance: The estates of David and Eula Wintermann. Accompanied by the original bill of sale from Mel Fowler, dated March 8, 1987.
