Oil on Academy board, 12 x 9 in. (30.5 x 22.8 cm), framed.
Condition: Scattered retouch, slight bowing to the support, wear to edges.

Provenance: Estate of N. David Scotti, Providence, Rhode Island.

N.B. The sitter has been identified in a copy of a letter dated August 3, 1905, from Seth Mendell to William C. Davenport, President of The Machinists' Bank, Taunton, Massachusetts, in an envelope affixed to the reverse of the painting.

Condition Report

There is a label from E. W. Devoe and Company, New York, on the reverse. An envelope containing a copy of a letter regarding the portrait is also affixed to the reverse.

The retouch is minor and confined mainly to the perimeter, with a few very small dots of retouch to the figure's face.
