Condition Report

Frame rubbing, with particular wear along the bottom edge. Visible stretcher marks. Also horizontal crease is visible at the lower 1/3 of the painting, corresponding patch on the reverse.

Cracquelure throughout. Rather heavy in the face with a few 1/8 - 1/4'''' areas starting to lift. Heavy masking varnish makes detection of inpainting difficult. Traces of older areas in the man''s face.
