Description

MASK BY V SALVATORE 1922. 1922 Bronze Female Mask sculpture on stepped plinth base by Victor Salvatore (1885-1965) cast by the Roman Bronze Works. Female face mask in the style of Daniel Chester French or Augustus Saint Gaudens. Salvatore exhibited in the famous 1913 Armory Show. in 1925 at the Concord Art Show Salvatore displayed two works included Mask along side work by Paul Manship, Ivan Mestrovic and Malvena Hoffman. His most famous work is a statue of James Fennimore Cooper in Cooperstown, New York. Marked: (signed left base: Victor Salvatore 1922, (back base) RBW. Size: 4''H, base: 1 1/2''W, 1 1/2''Deep. Condition: age appropriate wear.
