Based on San cosmology, this piece depicts the Voyage to the Underworld. The large therianthropic Eland figure is the focus of the work; he is cut off at the waist – half in the real world and half in the underworld. Accompanying this figure on his journey are underwater creatures: fish, an eel and a turtle, and at the front of the boat in attendance are little souls.
