Lot 148: Martinus Nellius (1670-after 1706, active The Hague and Leiden)

A partly-peeled lemon in a giant roemer, a Wan-li dish with cherries, apples and oranges, and a pewter plate with oysters and a walnut, with a pear, blackberries and butterflies on a partly draped stone ledge signed 'Nellius' (lower left) oil on canvas, unframed 61.1 x 50.9 cm. NOTES A similar signed version, with the composition in reverse, was sold in these Rooms, 10 November 1997, lot 138.
