Martin Rettig (OH, 1869-1956), Rookwood Vase,
oil on canvas, signed and dated lower right "M. Rettig 1936," cheerful still life with bold red carnations in a Rookwood vase with the fine hand-painted Art Deco motifs perfected by Lorinda Epply in the 1930s. Housed in the original hand-carved gilt wood frame with Deco elements at the corners. Each stretcher stamped "Getz-Brown Art Gallery / 114 W. 7th St. / Cincinnati, Ohio." SS 23.75" x 21.75"; DOA 27.5" x 25.5"
