* MARTIN KANE Silent Hour Oil on canvas, signed 74cm x 99cm Note : Born in Cardiff, Wales, Kane moved to Scotland in 1964. He studied at the Glasgow College of Building & Printing from 1980-82, Glasgow School of Art 1982-83 and Edinburgh College of Art 1983-87. His work is defined by his urban landscapes - bleak yet atmospheric. Factories, sky-scraping chimneys, concrete buildings and industrial wastelands all feature in his widely collected work. He has a wide following, mainly in America and several Hollywood mainstays are documented as enthusiastic collectors of Kane's work.
