This work is number 5 from the sold-out edition of 5.

With a focus on the artifice of new wilderness, Goossens's colour-saturated Cloud is a knowing nod to the tradition of Dutch landscape. In his series Regarding Nature Goossens photographed the area around a new sub-division where even the most untamed natural beauty has been planned and planted by human hands. The superficiality and alienation of the constructed scene is underscored with subtle wit and amusement.

Goossens received his post-graduate degrees from Aterliers Arhem and the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. His works have been exhibited internationally and featured in key exhibitions: Netherlands Now, Nature as Artifice and Dutch Dare. His work is also highlighted in the anthology Dutch Eyes. In 2001, Goossens was awarded the Incentive Prize for Photography for his photobook Regarding Nature (fig.1). His forthcoming solo exhibition will be held at Huis Marseille in 2009. He lives and works in Amsterdam.
