Mark Braver was born in Riga, the capital of Latvia, in 1958. Like many young artists of his time, he spent three years in the "School of Fine Arts", but had to discontinue his artistic studies when he was drafted into the Red Army. Upon his discharge, he met his future wife and they soon had a young daughter. Being an artist at heart and sympathetic towards the Jewish cause, he became involved in forbidden Zionist activities for which he was arrested and imprisoned. Mark spent five grueling years in a Soviet prison where he managed to survive. Upon his release from prison, he was reunited with his family and two more daughters were born. Braver soon realized that during his long imprisonment, policies in his country had changed dramatically and had become more welcoming towards individuals, cultures and the arts. Rekindling old friendships with fellow artists, he was once again enthusiastic about painting, and his friends encouraged him to devote himself to the task. Since his love for Israel never waned, he immigrated to the country with his family in 2000. He resides there still with his family and he devotes himself exclusively to his art. Braver's works are unique in their vivid colors and special textures. His compositions come to life in an abundance of colors while his unique layering and lively brushwork result in unique and splendid canvasses. Having caught the attention of many collectors around the world, Braver's works may now be found in private collections in the United States, Europe and Israel.

Shipping: Shipping fees will be be determend upon winning lots and we will combine shipping fees for multiple sales.

International bidders are subject to higher shipping fees. Please inquire about shipping to a particular country before the start of the auction. Purchased items will be shipped on a first paid, first shipped basis and may take up to ten (10) business days for said shipment to leave our New Ideas Auction House. Bidders who pay within three (3) days of auction ending will receive expedited handling and packaging. For time sensitive shipments, we (New Ideas Auction House) will expedite payment processing and shipping for a nominal fee. All domestic mainland items are shipped via USPS ground or FedEx unless otherwise specified or requested by the customer. All international shipments are shipped via USPS Express Mail International, Priority Mail International, FedEx International or UPS Worldwide Express/Expedited (depending on the destination country rules and regulations regarding prohibited items and declared value). For items that are too large for in-house shipment, a gallery approved vendor will be provided for crate and freight services. For framed artwork, since we (New Ideas Auction House) sell the item based on being framed and matted prior to being consigned to the gallery, we (New Ideas Auction House) will not remove any item from the frame and/or matting, unless there is damage to a front glass panel prior to being sold.

You will need to sign for your item and all packages come insured.

Insurance: All items are insured for the full purchase amount unless a written email stating you assume all responsibilities is obtained.

1) You will honor all bids placed in an auction, and are obligated to complete the transaction if you are the winning bidder. The winning bid is defined as the highest bid in an auction without a reserve. You acknowledge that by not fulfilling these obligations, your action or inaction may be legally actionable. If you have not paid after four days, your card on file may be charged, unless other payment arrangements have been made.

2) Buyer's Premium: A buyer's premium shall be added to each purchase to reach the total sales price. The buyer's premium for each sale is posted on the Auction detail page.

3) Total Sales Price: The total sales price of an item includes (1) the hammer price of the item (2) the buyer's premium (3) applicable sales and other taxes due on account of the sale, (4) packing, shipping transportation and insurance charges.
