Marie de Bievre, who painted flowers and still lifes exclusively, distinguished herself as one of the premier flower painters in 19th century Belgium. Her works are characterized by brilliant bold brushstrokes and colors and sense of atmosphere. de Bievre was recognized with an award at the 1905 Munich Exhibition. Her works are found in major museums including the Musees Royaux des Beaux-Arts in Brussels.
