Margo Ingham (1918-1978), 'Ye Olde Admiral Rodney, Prestbury', signed, inscribed on verso, watercolour and ink, 25 x 34cm.; 10 x 13.5in. * Charismatic gallery owner, artist and collector, most notably of L.S. Lowry. From 1946-51 Ingham ran the Mid-Day Studios exhibition space in Mosley Street, Manchester. It became an important place for the Manchester Group and more advanced northern artists, some of whose work had been refused by Manchester Academy of Fine Arts.
