MARECEK Bohumil (15. 12. 1884 Prague - 1962) Portrait of a girl Oil on cardboard, 26,5 x 22 cm, framed, dated 1915, signed upper right. Czech painter of genre and portraits, he studied under professor Liska, Jenewein and Masek at the Academy of Decorative Arts in Prague and under professor V. Hynais and Zenisek at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He also studied privately in Munich and Rome. He set up his own art school. He is known for his landscapes with figural motifs. See T 2/88.
