* Malthouse (Eric, 1914-1997). Abstract composition, mixed media on paper, indistinctly signed lower left, 49.5 x 58cm (19.5 x 23ins), framed and glazed. Provenance: Purchased directly from the artist by Betty P. Simons, circa 1959-60 in Penarth, South Wales; By descent to the present owner. Appointed Lecturer (later Senior Lecturer) at Cardiff College of Art in 1944, and a founder member of both the South Wales Group in 1946 and 56 Group Wales in 1956, Eric Malthouse is recognised as one of Wales' most significant modernist artists..
