Description

Signed lower right, inscribed lower left "A Sketch." Archibald MacKinnen, Scottish, late 19th/early 20th C. MacKinnen is most famously known for causing an uproar with a life-size crucifix painting he created on the wall of a cave on Davaar Island of Campbeltown that was seen my many as a sign from above. As a result MacKinnen as exiled from the town, however his work is still hangs in the Campbeltown Museum. From a Carmel, NY estate. Dimensions: 10" high x 14" wide. Condition: Lined, scattered losses, a few small areas of inpainting.
