Washington native Licien King
'Lun' Harris attended both the
Corcoran School of Art, where she
studied with Richard Lahey and
Eugene Weiss, and the Maryland
Institute College of Art. She also
studied with Lowell Nesbitt at the
Baltimore Museum of Art.
Mrs. Harris started her career as
a fashion illustrator at Washington
department store Lansburgh's.
Subsequently she was hired by
The Hecht Co., as chief fashion
illustrator. Mrs. Harris moved to
Baltimore in 1946 after her
marriage to Barney 'Barr' Harris,
where she taught figure drawing
and fashion illustration at the
Community College of Baltimore
(1960-65) and Maryland Institute
College of Art (1966-91).
