Description

Built at Prince Edward Island in 1864, the "Ellen" served trade routes between Canada, Liverpool and Australia. In 1891 she was lost in a gale on a voyage from New Castle to Noumea, New Caledonia. Oil on canvas mounted to board, 21 1/2 x 32 inches, sight. Frame 27 x 37 1/2 inches.
