"This body of work was inspired by one of the world's most ancient cities: Rome. But there is a nagging sense that beyond the obvious hints of the iconic buildings of Rome there is also a hint of the ghosts of other cities visited or lived in, a touch of New York city modernism here, the postmodernism of Tokyo there, and more localised references - the shadow of the Victorian Arts Centre hovering not so far from the Pantheon.
