LOUISE BURRIDGE JENNINGS (American, b. 1870). BOUGAINVILLEA VINE, MISSION and SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO CALIFORNIA: TWO WORKS, first signed lower left, second dated 1906 on reverse, each located and inscribed on label affixed to reverse. First, oil on canvas; second oil on board - First, unframed: 22 in. x 18 in.; second, unframed: 2o in. x 16 in.

Louise B. Jennings was a well-known Baltimore painter who
studied under William Merritt Chase
and Everett Lloyd Bryant. Jennings was
a member of the Baltimore Society
of Independent Artists, the
Baltimore Watercolor Club and the
Laguna Beach (California) Art Club.
She and her husband, the noted
zoologist Herbert Spencer Jennings,
often traveled together to California
where Mrs. Jennings often painted.
